Käpt'n Book 2024: New program and new look

Käpt'n Book sails through the Rhineland with a fresh look. After more than 20 years, the reading festival has a new visual identity - both online and on posters and brochures. The slogan remains the same: Käpt'n Book brings reading fun for everyone!

The “Rhenish Reading Festival for Children and Young Adults Käpt'n Book”, organized by the City of Bonn's Department of Culture, will once again offer over 500 free events in Bonn and the region from 3 to 17 November 2024. The entire program is now online.

Once again this year, well-known and popular children's and young adult authors such as Frauke Angel, Fritzi Bender, Jörg Hilbert, Torben Kuhlmann, Paul Maar, Nicole Röndigs, Petra Postert and Chantal-Fleur Sandjon will be on board. In addition to interactive readings for children and young people, there is a varied and free supporting program of music, film, theater and workshops as well as family days in Bonn and the southern Rhineland region.

An overview of the complete program and detailed information on the authors and illustrators as well as their books can be found on the newly designed website of the reading festival at  www.kaeptnbook-lesefest.de (opens in a new tab).

The program booklet can also be downloaded below. From mid-September, the newly designed booklet, which has been reduced in size in the interests of sustainability, will be available at all event locations.
