"If everyone did ..." is the slogan of the current campaign by UN Volunteers and the City of Bonn. Together, the United Nations Volunteer Program and the Volunteer Agency at the Department of Social Affairs and Housing of the City of Bonn are promoting volunteering on a local and global level. Until December 5, International Volunteer Day, the motif can be seen on the mega and city lights electronic display boards and on the info screens at the main train station.
UN Volunteers is based in Bonn
The campaign image shows Mayor Katja Dörner together with Toily Kurbanov, Executive Coordinator of United Nations Volunteers. The UN Tower, the former "Lange Eugen", can be seen in the background. The campaign, which was jointly developed by the volunteer agency, UNV and the city's marketing service, draws attention to the importance of local and global volunteering - this is what UNV and the volunteer agency of the City of Bonn stand for.
UNV is based in Bonn and is active in around 130 countries. The programme has field offices in 86 countries and is represented worldwide by the offices of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Each year, UNV mobilizes more than 7,700 UN Volunteers at national and international level, 80 percent of whom come from developing countries and more than 30 percent of whom work in their own country.
