Bonn’s Activities for International Women’s Day 2025

International Women's Day is on March 8. As it falls on a weekend in 2025, some events will be postponed to the week after. On March 14, 2025, the motto in Bonn will therefore be: exchange, celebrate, inform.

International Women's Day

The Equal Opportunities Office of the Federal City of Bonn has once again put together an interesting program for you on the occasion of this year's International Women's Day - for the first time, the Market of Opportunities as well as exciting workshops and lectures will take place in the International Meeting Place in Ollenhauerstraße on Friday, 14 March.

International Women's Day is an important day to draw attention to what has already been achieved in the realization of gender equality - and what unfortunately has not yet been achieved!

We have not yet reached our goal on the road to equality. Women are more affected by conflicts - as the current crises show us. But without the potential and talents of women, there will be no social progress.

We want to use International Women's Day 2025 to exchange views on important topics, to find out about offers, but also to celebrate. This year, we are once again doing this together with many different actors who are working for women's rights and more justice in our society and in our city. Our aim is to make this valuable work visible.

Join us on March 14!

What to expect

Our city is home to a large number of associations and organizations that are active and committed to women's and gender equality issues. International Women's Day offers a good opportunity to make this valuable work visible.

Information stands from 10 am to 4 pm in the International Meeting Center, Ollenhauerstraße 1
On Friday, 14 March, visit around 30 stands from Bonn organizations, associations, advice centres, etc. in the International Meeting Centre and actively exchange ideas with those involved. At 12 noon, Mayor Katja Dörner will welcome the participants after a short musical contribution by Gabriela Vilchez, member of the Association of Binational Families, and take them on a tour of the stands.

The International Meeting Center will also be offering interesting workshops and lectures (registration required). There will also be many other events throughout the city to mark International Women's Day, such as guided tours of the city with different themes (registration required). In the evening, a visit to the movie theater Woki will round off International Women's Day.
