Bonn vehicles arrived in Kherson

The city of Bonn supports the Ukrainian city of Kherson with a solidarity partnership. The main aim is to provide concrete assistance. In order to repair war and flood damage, the partner city needs technical equipment. The federal city has therefore organized the transport of three vehicles from the city's own stock. The vehicles have now arrived at their destination.

A fire department personnel carrier was delivered, as well as a water truck, which can be used to clean streets or transport firefighting and drinking water, and a waste collection vehicle, which can transport around 20 cubic meters of waste, from Bonnorange. The waste truck is already in use. The transport of the three decommissioned vehicles was carried out with the financial and logistical support of the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW). A forwarding company successfully transferred the wagons to the south of Ukraine.

Arrival of the first vehicles in Kherson: a fire department armored personnel carrier and a Bonnorange water truck. Shortly afterwards, a waste collection vehicle also reached the twin city.
The delivered waste collection vehicle from Bonnorange is already in use to clean the city from war and flood damage.

More technical supplies for Kherson

The city of Kherson had also requested further technical equipment, such as computers or servers. Since the city administration is currently replacing computers with laptops, it is donating 144 computers to its partner city. They will be handed over to the Zentrallager Sachspenden Bonn (ZeSaBo), which will deliver them to the Cologne-based association Blau-Gelbes Kreuz for transport to Kherson together with other donations in kind received. The material donation campaign of the association has been completed, but financial donations are still possible through the joint donation project "Bonn helps Kherson" of the city of Bonn and the aid organization Help - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe (Help for Self-Help)at  www.bonn-hilft-cherson.de (opens in a new tab).
