Lasse Lührs won gold in the triathlon mixed relay at the Olympic Games in Paris in August 2024 - the first gold medal for Germany in this discipline for 16 years. Lasse Lührs finished 21st in the individual event, making him the second-best German. He lives in Bonn and trains with Schwimm- und Sportfreunde Bonn.

Antonia Bärk and Henny Kirst took part in the Indoor Cycling World Championships in Bremen in October 2024. They won the gold medal in the women's double artistic cycling event. In their club Radsportfreunde 1936 Bonn-Duisdorf, they have been training other young athletes in artistic cycling for more than ten years.

Mayor Katja Dörner: “I am delighted that these exceptional athletes are immortalizing themselves in the Golden Book today. It makes me proud that Bonn's sports clubs can prepare people for such top performances.” She also used the reception to thank the families of the honorees: “Family is often the silent partner behind the successes, without this indispensable support such top performances would be unthinkable.”

Lasse Lührs signed the Golden Book of the City of Bonn with very personal words.

The Golden Book of the City of Bonn

The Golden Book of the City of Bonn documents both the history of the city and the history of the Federal Republic of Germany: crowned and uncrowned heads of state have signed it, as have personalities from the worlds of politics, science, business, art and sport. The Golden Book was introduced in 1926. The fourth volume was opened in 2015. The decision on who signs the Golden Book is made by the Bonn City Council.
