2024 Bonn SDG Days
From September 20 to October 6, 2024, the Bonn SDG Days will once again provide vivid information about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
Under the motto: “17 days for the 17 goals”, they invite you to take part with an action day organized by the Bonn Network for Development on 20 September, #ZeroHungerRun on 22 September, the Sustainability Stage on market square during the Bonn Festival on 28 September and many other activities: let’s get involved and help implement the SDGs Bonn!
17-Goal Zone on Friedrichstraße
Visible from far with its popular symbolic umbrella roof in the SDG colors, along with lantern banners for each SDG and other offers on display, the 17-Goal Zone on Friedrichstraße in the city center invites you to open your eyes to the many fair, sustainable offers available in Bonn and to take advantage of them throughout the campaign period and beyond. The stores and cafés display posters advertising their offers around the topic of sustainability.
#ZeroHungerRun on September 22nd
A major kick-off event for Bonn’s SDG Days is once again the popular #ZeroHungerRun organized by Welthungerhilfe in Rheinaue park on 22 September. Together with the City of Bonn, Welthungerhilfe is calling on runners young and old to join the charity event in the Rheinaue on Sunday, September 22, to get moving for a world without hunger.
Last year, 2,433 runners of all ages responded to this call and together raised around 33,000 euros for people in need with their voluntary donations. Let us keep up or even step up this fantastic commitment with this year’s #ZeroHungerRun. No matter whether you are a professional runner or an occasional athlete, join in as an individual, a family, or with a team of friends, a club or a colleague - the common goal is all that counts in the charity run. The 5 km run can also be completed as a walk, the 10 km run as a relay. And the little ones may join the Kids Run.

BonnFest meets Bonn SDG Days
As the annual three-day BonnFest organized by City Marketing e.V. takes place precisely during the Bonn SDG Days, cooperation with the City of Bonn's Department of International Affairs and Global Sustainability was agreed upon for the first time in 2023. Under the motto “BonnFest meets Bonn SDG Days”, sustainability offers will increasingly be integrated into the festival, such as a Sustainability Mile on Friedensplatz or an action stand against food waste run by the European Commission, Bio-Stadt Bonn and Verbraucherzentrale NRW together with the Wertvoll NRW project.
The highlight will be the 17-goals Sustainability Stage on the market on Saturday, September 28. The event starts with a public fair breakfast on market square from 11 am to 1:30 pm. Everyone is cordially invited to enjoy a free breakfast with music and food that has been produced fairly for people and the environment and donated by companies from Bonn and the surrounding area and a large natural food producer from northern Germany. The Night Train Big Band, which includes pupils from Bonn's Fair Trade Amos Comenius Gymnasium, and Deutsche Welle choir will be performing and singing. The event will continue with a varied dance and music program focusing on Bonn's sustainability activities, such as the successful Bonn Climate License program BONNi & BO or Bonn's international partnerships with cities in Bolivia, Ghana and Ukraine. And as a special highlight, André Schnura, well-known saxophonist who has been rocking the country since the European Championships, will be coming to Bonn especially for the Sustainability Stage.
