Trips to neighbouring cities

Bonn is an ideal starting point for excursions into the scenic environs. There are attractive sights in neighbouring towns such as the Brühl palaces or museums of modern art. The Siebengebirge hills and the Ahr river valley offer magnificent opportunities for hiking and relaxing.

Adenauer House and Bad Honnef

The Adenauer House in Rhöndorf.

Admist the southern foothills of the Siebengebirge lies Bad Honnef, the ´Rhenish Riviera`, with its idyllic wine village of Rhöndorf. The Adenauer House, the former private home of Germany´s first Federal Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, is also well worth a visit. Another highlight is Grafenwerth Island with its harbour and magnificent view of the legendary Drachenfels (´Dragon´s Rock`) and Rolandsbogen (´Roland´s Arch`).
