The real estate service of the Service Center Wirtschaft team is a central initiative and contact point that simplifies the search for office and commercial space in Bonn. The service center works closely with owners and brokers of office and commercial space. Requests for space from self-employed people, companies, institutions and public bodies can thus be met in a needs-oriented and neutral manner.

The start-up team at the Service Center Wirtschaft supports founders on their path to self-employment and is also available to help start-ups with questions about consolidating their business after they have been founded. A particular industry focus is on knowledge-intensive services. With the Bonn-Profits initiative, the Bonn Economic Development Agency and Sparkasse Köln-Bonn motivate start-ups to implement their business ideas through a comprehensive program of information and events. This service is complemented by attractive office space in the Bonn-Profits Innovation and Start-up Center.

The financing and funding advice for start-ups and existing companies offers specific initial and introductory advice on the respective funding and financing options. For example, founders can prepare for meetings with banks with the advisor and companies can find out which funding is currently available.

The Economic Development Agency networks, be it larger companies in the Rathausrunde Wirtschaft, the business community as a whole through the Bonn Business Talks and finally certain groups in the Producing Companies Discussion Group or in the business parks through the Business Park Talks.

In addition to the usual business development topics, these networks are increasingly providing a platform for discussing climate neutrality and sustainability issues. Together with external service providers, the Bonn Economic Development Agency has already held seven business park talks as part of the “Climate-friendly business parks” project. The aim of the initiative is to provide impetus for the development and implementation of measures in companies that promote the climate-friendly development of all business parks. Key elements include potential checks as well as consulting and funding offers for a higher quality of location, a better open space structure, optimized energy consumption and better utilization of energy generation in the local companies. In 2024, this project will be transferred into a specific business park management project for climate protection and climate adaptation and thus further developed beyond the existing framework. The economic development agency will also build up its own human resources to provide advice and project management. The topics of switching to renewable energies and the prospective use of industrial waste heat as part of the decarbonization of the heat supply have also taken on a high priority in the discussion group of manufacturing companies, also against the backdrop of the energy shortage and price increase triggered by Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.

Every year, the Bonn Business Talks provide more than 1,000 representatives of companies based in Bonn with the largest networking platform for a productive exchange among themselves, as well as with administration, associations and other important partners. On June 27, 2024, the 25th Bonn Business Talks took place on the forecourt of the Bonn Opera House under the motto “We celebrate dialog”. The anniversary event attracted more than 1,000 guests from the worlds of business, science, politics and administration. 41 partners and sponsors, who provide significant funding for the Business Talks, had the opportunity to present themselves and their services to the audience.
