The goal of bonnvivir is to create beacons for sustainable business and work in Bonn and the region. The company is dedicated to pressing social issues, such as the mobility and energy turnaround or new urban forms of production and work. In this way, a contribution is to be made to sustainable urban design and the long-term preservation of the quality of life in the region. With the Maarwerk, space for new forms of business is being created on 12,000 square meters of floor space in the Beuel-Ost industrial park in order to help shape change in the region. The central building block of the Maarwerk is stacked urban production, which is to be developed over the next few years. The Bonn Economic Development Corporation expressly supports the project, also within the framework of a jointly drawn up Letter of Intent (LoI) from the City of Bonn and the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg Chamber of Industry and Commerce in applying for project funding from European subsidies (ERDF).

The Ten Brinke company and its joint venture partner, BLI Invest GmbH from Bonn, are projecting a new, energy-efficient office campus in Bonn-Dransdorf. After successful completion and handover of the first construction phase to the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), a second and third construction phase will follow on the site. The project management organization of the German Aerospace Center (DLR-PT) has been secured as a tenant for the third construction phase. Over the next three years, a modern and forward-looking campus with attractive green spaces and a high quality of life will be built on the site, which is currently almost completely sealed. The building complex, designed by the architectural firm CLP from Koblenz, will be supplied with heat and cooling via heat pump technology in combination with a groundwater well. Furthermore, photovoltaic elements are planned for additional power supply. Greened and walkable roof surfaces as well as earth-bound facade greening provide for an increase in the quality of stay and the microclimate. The connection to the existing public transport system will be ensured by the extension and expansion of the existing network of footpaths and cycle paths. The Bonn Economic Development Agency has provided support in permit management and at the same time contributed to securing the site by optimizing the locations of DLR-PT and BaFin.

The history of the Dohle Trading Group began in 1901, when Gerhard Schröder founded a food retail business in Quadrath near Cologne. Jean Dohle started his own food retail business in Quirrenbach/Siebengebirge in 1927. In 1974, the first HIT store was opened in Bonn. Currently, there are over 100 HIT stores nationwide with sales areas ranging from 900 to 5,500 square meters. In August 2023, the HIT Handelsgruppe headquarters with around 200 employees moved from Siegburg to the Rhein Palais at Bonner Bogen. From the company's point of view, the new location meets all the requirements for modern working: sustainable (use of air-source heat pumps), attractive location (proximity to the Rhine and catering facilities) and excellent accessibility (also by public transport). Within the framework of an information event, Stadtwerke Bonn Verkehrs GmbH provided information and advice on the accessibility of the new company headquarters by public transport. Furthermore, the Bonn Economic Development Agency has supported the HIT Handelsgruppe in the context of the approval procedure with regard to the outdoor advertising facilities.

In 2020, the start-up "VEMO" was founded with the vision of rethinking urban transport. "VEMO" cooperates with different companies and delivers the goods of the companies within the city area exclusively with cargo bikes and with individual solutions depending on the type of goods to be delivered. As part of the vision, vans are to be replaced with lower emission alternatives. In doing so, "VEMO" acts as socially, sustainably and transparently as possible, because the city of the future concerns everyone. Sustainable city logistics is currently offered in Cologne and Bonn. The Bonn Economic Development Agency assisted in the procurement of warehouse space at Maarstraße 96 for expansion purposes.

"AMUI" pursues a powerful vision: the fusion of high-tech and craftsmanship! Designers, producers and consumers are directly connected to realize a revolutionary digital, data-driven manufacturing. The main goal is to enable better, greener and more sustainable production. New collections are the focus of this vision, supported by a highly skilled production network. Since 2022, "AMUI" has launched the pioneering project "JeansGoGreen". Here, used jeans are collected, recycled and transformed into brand new jeans. This innovative initiative is based on a cooperation with various industrial companies, including Deutsche Telekom and the renowned company Remondis. The www.jeansgogreen.de project by "AMUI" is a milestone in the textile industry. It not only revolutionizes the production of jeans, but also sends a strong signal for environmental protection and sustainability. The vision of "AMUI" is to make the entire textile industry future-oriented by effectively focusing on digitalization and the recycling process. The company is supported by the Bonn Economic Development Agency, which assists in establishing contacts with potential customers and acquiring funding.

In May 2022, a team of four physicists with a shared passion for technical innovation officially founded Midel Photonics GmbH. The company is revolutionizing materials processing with lasers. Whether in cutting microchips, welding motors and batteries for electromobility or display manufacturing: In many forward-looking production processes, the lasers used today are reaching their limits. This leads to wasted resources due to rejects. Midel Photonics uses a novel technology to shape laser beams, making existing processes many times more efficient and enabling new types of manufacturing processes. This paves the way for sustainable manufacturing in the future. As part of its real estate service, the Bonn Economic Development Agency assisted Midel Photonics in finding premises for expansion purposes.

VesselSens GmbH wants to improve the health of patients suffering from narrowing blood vessels in the extremities. It has developed "StentGuard" for this purpose. The device can use an external readout unit to check whether "restenosis" is developing in an implanted stent that is intended to keep the vessel open. This refers to the re-narrowing of blood vessels within the stent. This complication poses a high health risk for patients, and amputations or deaths can result. With the support of the City of Bonn's Economic Development Agency, "VesselSens" was able to move into office and laboratory space in the "BonnProfits" innovation and start-up center at the beginning of 2023, where it plans to develop its innovative sensor system to market maturity.
