Traffic information for the Deutsche Post Marathon on April 6

The 22nd Deutsche Post Marathon will start on Sunday, April 6, 2025, with a record number of over 15,000 participants. Thousands of visitors are also expected. Such a major event cannot take place without traffic disruptions. It is therefore necessary to close certain roads in the city and set up no-stopping zones.

The City of Bonn asks all road users to show consideration and understanding for the necessary measures. It asks you to inform yourself in good time and, if possible, to avoid using your car and use alternative means of transport. The entire running route will be closed.

Bonn

Franziskanerstraße will be closed to private traffic from 7 a.m. on April 1 until 9 a.m. on April 8. Stockenstrasse will only be accessible from Adenauerallee from April 1, 7 a.m. to April 5, 6 p.m. and can be driven through to Am Hof (Stockenstrasse will then no longer be accessible from Rathausgasse due to the change in the one-way street regulations). Deliveries to Franziskanerstraße are possible until April 5, 6 p.m., the passage to Belderberg is closed.

The extensive starting area of the running course (Rathausgasse, Stockenstraße, Franziskanerstraße, Belderberg) will be completely closed from Saturday, April 5, 6 p.m. until the end of the event (also for delivery traffic).

All other closures will begin at 7 a.m. on April 6:
For the roads from Wachsbleiche along Römerstraße, Welschnonnenstraße, Belderberg, Sandkaule, Adenauerallee, Bundeskanzlerplatz to Welckerstraße. In the city center, the areas of Oxfordstraße from Wilhelmstraße up to and including Kennedybrücke, Rathausgasse, Am Hof, Wesselstraße, Am Neutor and Am Hofgarten (both sections) are also closed.

In the city district of Bonn, the closures will end at around 5 p.m. on the day of the event.

Beuel

The areas affected are between Kennedybrücke, Konrad-Adenauer-Platz, Limpericher Straße, Auf der Schleide, Rudolf-Hahn-Straße, Landgrabenweg to T-Mobile and the Rhine as well as Rheinaustraße between Kennedybrücke and Combahnstraße, Combahnstraße between Rheinaustraße and Professor-Neu-Allee and Professor-Neu-Allee between Combahnstraße and Konrad-Adenauer-Platz.

The closures in Beuel will end at around 3 p.m. on April 6.

The times given are approximate. There may be delays due to cleaning work, for example.

Stopping bans

Stopping bans apply in some areas of the running route. The corresponding signs are marked with the respective periods of validity. These bans apply from 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 until the end of the event on Sunday, April 6. During this time, vehicles parked in the no-stopping zone will be checked and towed away if necessary. The costs for this will be borne by the owner of the towed vehicle. Please park outside the restricted areas and use alternative means of transport such as cycling or walking for short distances. 

Rhine bridges

The north and south bridges (Friedrich-Ebert-Brücke/Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke) will be open to traffic in both directions during the event. The “Rheinaue” exit will be completely closed during the event. The Kennedy Bridge will also be completely closed during the event.
