City of Bonn awards funding for international and sustainable projects

In 2025, the City of Bonn is once again awarding funding for projects that contribute to development education work and to strengthening Bonn's project partnerships and implementing the 2030 Agenda. The funds are aimed in particular at smaller organizations or initiatives based in Bonn.

The content of the funding program is based on the “Future Concept for Bonn as an International Policy Location”, which was adopted by the Council on 30 January 2014. The grant for all projects amounts to a maximum of 3,500 euros per measure. Projects are scheduled to run until March 31, 2026. All events must have been completed by this date.

The Committee for Europe, International Affairs, Science, Economy and Labor is expected to decide on the allocation of funds at its meeting on 25 June 2025. Projects that are started before this date are not eligible for funding. The call is subject to the availability of budget funds.

Submit applications by April 25

Applications can be submitted until Friday, April 25, 2025. Please note that all applications must be submitted in writing to the Department of International Affairs and Global Sustainability, Florian Büth, Altes Rathaus, Markt, 53111 Bonn. Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to send the application documents digitally. The date of receipt by the City of Bonn (postmark) applies. Applications submitted too late cannot be considered.
