Otto Benecke Stiftung e.V. (OBS) carries out education and scholarship programmes to integrate young late repatriates, those entitled to political asylum and quota refugees in Germany. It supports young immigrants entitled to residence, who obtain the higher education entrance qualification in Germany, and who aspire to or would like to continue a university education. Measures such as language courses, academic placements and seminars are promoted. OBS therefore collaborates closely with the university educational guidance guarantee fund of the Youth Migration Services (JMD), which examines the entitlement and suitability for funding.
With its seminar programme, OBS offers orientation and information about entering studies and the working world. The seminars are offered across Germany.
OBS also develops and coordinates integration programmes and qualification offers - predominantly in the fields of education and work markets, work with parents and youths. It carries out these projects in close collaboration with various organisations - in particular, migrant organisations. The international-style programmes are closely linked with migration and integration issues.
OBS focuses conceptual impulses on the FORUM MIGRATION, which it has carried out publically since 1995 in Bonn. The established series of events offers space for information, exchange and networking.
OBS works for national and international clients, such as the Federal Ministry for Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, the Federal Ministry of the Interior, the Federal Ministry of Education and Science and the European Commission.
