Founded in 1948, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is the world’s oldest and largest global environmental network composed of states, governments, civil society, Indigenous peoples’ organizations, and experts.

IUCN’s work focuses on valuing and conserving nature, ensuring effective and equitable governance of its use, and deploying nature-based solutions.

In Bonn, the European Regional Office (EURO) hosts numerous global thematic teams and coordinates IUCN’s work in Europe. It also houses an important library on environmental law.
