The Bonn-based Agitos Foundation was established by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in 2008. It renders technical and financial support to IPC member organizations (national paralympic committees and international sports associations). Specific goals are the promotion of special development programs in the fields of sports and the development of structures that will create favorable framework conditions for athletes with impairments. Special training provided to coaches and technical staff in sports and the funding of programs is to empower these partners so that they may effectively promote sports for people with impairments. Agitos also places an emphasis on supporting activities related to educational programs and public relations.
