We warmly welcome all bookworms and bookworms and those who want to become one to the Käpt'n Book Family Festival at the Haus der Natur! With her children's book “Egon Eichhorn und der wilde Müll im Wald”, Alina Gries takes us along with Egon and his animal friends, who are preparing for winter. Unfortunately, they have to realize that what the two-legged friends carelessly throw into nature is anything but good. Afterwards, Petra Postert will read from her book “Nebenan die Wildnis” (“Next door, the wilderness”), in which the shy Mathis meets Majella. Together they are always on the lookout for new adventures in the wild.

Things to see in and around the Haus der Natur

In front of the Haus der Natur, information and activity stands from the German Forest Protection Association, BonNova and Bonnorange invite visitors to playfully explore the topic of waste in nature. Does nature actually make garbage and is there a garbage collection service? How do I deal with waste responsibly? And what can I do to behave in a sustainable and environmentally conscious way? These questions will be answered and creatively explored.

In the House of Nature, you can experience our permanent exhibition on the topic of “Metropolitan Forest” with all your senses. On the first floor, you can also view bird drawings by Volker Herzog in the “Bird Encounters” exhibition and learn more about his experiences.
