The development of the flute over two centuries will be demonstrated by our musicians in the first concert of the current season at the Bundesrat: the ensemble led by the wonderful flutist Lucas Spagnolo, who reached the semi-finals of the renowned international ARD-music competition last year, plays music from the classical period to the modern era: From Mozart’s gallant sounds to the elegant playing music of Swiss composer Volkmar Andreae – not forgetting the virtuoso quartet by Beethoven’s childhood friend Anton Reicha, whose work at the Paris Conservatoire marks the beginning of modern woodwind technique …
