Similar to the established “City Cycling” competition, in which Bonn has been successfully participating for years, municipalities and districts compete against each other in “City Country on Foot” to cover as many kilometers as possible on foot as a city community within a certain period of time. The campaign period in Bonn is from November 1 to 21, 2024. 

By taking part, the city of Bonn wants to encourage people to walk. “I hope that many citizens will take part in the campaign. Whether it's walking to school or work, going for a stroll, hiking or jogging in your free time - walking is good for your health and climate-friendly,” says Mayor Katja Dörner. 

Citizens can register and digitally enter the kilometers they have covered on foot. Teams can be formed or existing teams can be joined. Registration is now possible free of charge on the Internet at  www.stadtlandzufuss.de (opens in a new tab). At the end of the campaign, the city of Bonn will award attractive prizes to the three most successful school classes and the ten most active individuals for the most kilometers collected.
