The City of Bonn hosted the festival together with the Federal President, the Federal Parliament, the Federal Council, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Foundation House of Contemporary History of the Federal Republic of Germany. 

The celebrations took place on United Nations Square, in the World Conference Center Bonn, Villa Hammerschmidt and its park, in the Federal Council, in the BMZ with the historic Chancellor's Room and the former Cabinet Room as well as in the park of Palais Schaumburg with the Chancellor's Bungalow.
