The provisional Bonn result for the European elections: CDU 24.62%, Alliance 90/Greens: 23.07%, SPD: 13.97%, AfD: 6.72%, FDP: 7.76%, Die Linke: 3.22%, Volt: 7.12%, Others: 13.53% - of which the Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) alliance received the most votes with 3.93%.
Bonn's Chief Electoral Officer, Mayor Katja Dörner: “I would like to thank everyone who helped with this election and whose commitment made this democratic election possible. The 2,400 people who helped at the polls today are important pillars of our democracy."
In the run-up to the European elections, the city administration called on citizens to take part in the election via all channels, as the federal city also benefits from European Union funding, for example.
For the first time, young people aged 16 and over were eligible to vote in the 2024 European elections. In Bonn, this included around 5,500 people aged 16 and 17.
