It has been the main attraction of the Deutsche Post Marathon for years, but this year the demand for the half marathon is particularly high. Already 9,200 runners have registered for the popular 21.097-kilometer distance. This means that only 800 places are still available and the organizers expect these to be fully booked within the next few days - a great success for the event. Particularly impressive: this year, the number of starting places for the half marathon was increased early to 10,000 – which is 2,000 more places than last year, when the maximum number of participants was 8,000. Despite this expansion, the discipline will be fully booked ahead of time.
Great interest in other disciplines: Over 12,500 registrations in total
The registration figures for the other competitions are also higher than in previous years. More than 12,500 participants have already registered for the big sports festival on Sunday, April 6, 2025. This includes 1,300 entries for the marathon and 560 relay runners. More than 1,400 entries have been received for the ten-kilometer run, which will also start on the Belderberg for the first time this year. In 2024, the short distance for beginners was fully booked early, so the participant limit was increased from 1,500 to 3,000. Deutsche Post School Marathon: Registration now open!
Registration for the Deutsche Post School Marathon is now open. Pupils from grade 5 onwards can complete the marathon distance as a relay team of 6. Thanks to the support of title sponsor Deutsche Post, participation is free for schools - an ideal opportunity to promote sporting enthusiasm and team spirit.
Community-Run on February 14
If you would like to find out more about the Deutsche Post Marathon Bonn in advance, you can come to the banks of the Rhine (Rathenauufer at the Bonn sundial) on Friday, February 14. The marathon will be represented there with an information stand.
In the late afternoon, a community run of a different kind will also start from here at around 5 pm. In keeping with the date, couples in particular, but also singles looking for a friendly running partner, are very welcome on this evening. On offer will be a relaxed run followed by refreshments.
