After a pause due to the coronavirus pandemic, relations between Bonn and Chengdu are picking up again. On Thursday, 21 November 2024, a musical reception was held in Bonn's Old Town Hall to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the cooperation agreement within the framework of the project partnership between Bonn and Chengdu. 

The celebration was organized by the City of Bonn with the support of the Confucius Institute of the University of Bonn. Nicole Unterseh, Deputy Mayor of the City of Bonn, and HUANG Ying, Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Düsseldorf, gave welcome speeches. 

Hannes Jedeck, Director of the Confucius Institute Bonn, introduced the musical performance. Singer Anna Herbst and pianist Li Wan-Yen performed Chinese and German art songs. The event was fully booked and received a great response.
