Coronavirus: Modified specifications of the Robert Koch Institute

If a positive corona case occurs in a school class or kindergarten group, the entire class or group, including the teachers or educators involved, must be quarantined for 14 days with immediate effect. The city of Bonn would like to draw attention to this change in the guidelines of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).

In the RKI's contact person management data of 10 September 2020, it is stated that: First-degree contact persons who need to be placed in domestic segregation "are persons in a relatively confined space or in a contact situation that is difficult to monitor with the confirmed Covid 19 case (e.g. daycare group/school class), regardless of the individual risk assessment". The quarantine lasts 14 days from the last contact with the positively tested person.

In the event of a corresponding corona case, the school or daycare center will inform the first-degree contact persons from their institution about the quarantine by means of a letter from the public health department. A few days later, the affected persons also receive a written quarantine order. In order to determine whether the first-degree contact persons have also been infected with Covid-19, the public health department will order a test. For this purpose, the city's diagnostic center will make an appointment by telephone.

Current figures

As of Monday, September 14, 2020, 56 people in Bonn are in quarantine because of a proven Covid-19 infection. Since February 28, 2020, a total of 1112 people have tested positive for the coronavirus. Nine people have died, 1047 people have recovered.

In the past seven days, 48 new infections have been registered in Bonn; this corresponds to 14.55 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. With the emergency mechanism introduced by the federal and state governments against rising infection rates of 35 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, the limit for the federal city of Bonn with more than 330,000 inhabitants is 116 cases.

The Telekom Baskets are also affected by the pandemic. The NBBL team (junior and youth basketball Bundesliga) "Team Bonn/Rhöndorf" had contact with a positively tested player of the opposing team from Hamburg during a game. All players involved are in quarantine as first order contact persons (KP I), the swabs were taken by the team doctor and are negative.

A coach of the youth section also tested positive for Covid 19 on Saturday. Two youth teams of the Baskets, 27 persons in total, are affected as KP I and have been or will be sent into quarantine. The contact to the young players and their families is still ongoing.
