In the municipal shared accommodation for refugees affected by an outbreak of corona virus, 29 people have so far tested positive by PCR tests, 40 negative. Additional test results are pending.

The facility is under quarantine until May 11. The almost 90 people living there are not allowed to leave the premises of the shelter. At the same time, a ban on visiting and entering the facility is in effect. The Office for Social Affairs and Housing is ensuring that the people are provided for.

There is another outbreak at a daycare center in Bonn. There, 16 people have tested positive, one affected person is not from Bonn.

Incidence value rises to 175.9

The outbreaks and the fact that the number of cases was low seven days ago have contributed to an increase in the Corona incidence value. It stands at 175.9 on Sunday, May 2, 2021, based on 100,000 residents, bringing the total number of new infections reported to the health department in the past seven days to 580.

The number of confirmed Covid 19 cases since February 28, 2020 is 13,009. In the meantime, 11,685 people are considered recovered, 228 people have died in connection with the coronavirus, and 1,096 people are acutely infected. 2,864 citizens of Bonn are currently in quarantine.

Meanwhile, vaccinations against the coronavirus continue intensively. As of Sunday morning, May 2, 116,495 initial vaccinations and 28,621 secondary vaccinations have been performed in Bonn so far.

Quiet May night

From the point of view of the city order service and the guard GABI (Joint Contact Point Bonn-Innenstadt), the May night was calm. There were no problems with too large groups or people who wanted to set up Maypoles too numerous or too late. The contact restrictions and the exit restriction from 10 p.m. were mostly observed.

Regardless of May Day customs, the City Order Service had to take six charges for curfew violations and 31 charges against people meeting in too large groups of more than two households. In addition, the city's public order service investigated ten reported disturbances of the peace. For a Main night, however, this is a very "quiet" overall picture.

The guard GABI controlled the city center as well as the old town in the May night. No persons were found setting up maypoles or celebrating the May Night. In the Vorgebirgsstraße, the employees noticed an unauthorized beverage bar around 8:30 pm. The store had even set up two bar tables in front of the restaurant, which attracted guests to stay. This was accompanied by loud music. A complaint was written. In the area of the Central Bus Station, some alcoholic and addicted people had to be asked to go home after the start of the curfew, here eleven charges were recorded.

May Day demonstrations

From the point of view of the city administration, the demonstrations registered for May Day in the city area went well and without any problems. The participants have well respected the requirements and distance rules. The unauthorized "Querdenker-Picknick" in the city center was stopped.

Elimination of mandatory testing for vaccinated individuals

According to the updated Corona Protection Ordinance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the testing requirement for vaccinated persons will be eliminated as of Monday, May 3, 2021. Proven immunization or recovery from a coronavirus infection will replace proof of a negative test result no more than 24 hours old when seeking services (e.g., hairdressing or non-medical foot care), mandatory testing in schools, or entry quarantine.

Exemption from mandatory testing may be demonstrated under the Corona Protection Ordinance by:

Proof of a complete vaccination against Covid-19 completed at least 14 days ago with a vaccine licensed in the European Union,
proof of a positive test result based on laboratory diagnostics using nucleic acid detection (PCR, PoC-PCR or other methods of nucleic acid amplification technology) and dating back at least 28 days and a maximum of six months, or
evidence of a positive test result in combination with evidence of administration of at least one vaccine dose against Covid-19 with a vaccine licensed in the European Union at least 14 days ago.
