Ten confirmed coronavirus cases in Bonn

As of 12 noon on Tuesday, 10 March 2020, there are a total of ten confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in the city of Bonn.

The five new cases that have been added compared to the previous day are all travel returnees: four persons had stayed in South Tyrol, one person in Austria. All five affected persons, one of whom is currently showing symptoms of coronavirus disease, are in domestic quarantine. The public health department is currently identifying the contact persons. Of these five new cases, three were together at a skiing holiday.

The facts of the already known coronavirus cases remain unchanged

The first case is the employee of the OGS of the Clemens-August-School, who has been symptom-free for days. The school is closed until Friday, 13 March 2020. Classes will resume on Monday, 16 March 2020.
The second case concerns a 13-year-old student of the Bonn International School who was in South Tyrol. The school management had informed the parents and teachers directly and closed the school until 23 March.
The third case is a mother of a family. The father, who had been admitted to hospital because of a previous illness, but had been discharged in the meantime, had been infected in the meantime (case no. 5). The two children, one of whom is currently with his grandmother, have no symptoms.
A travel returnee from South Tyrol was the fourth case to test positive on 7 March 2020; he shows mild symptoms.
The affected persons and their direct contact persons are in domestic quarantine.
