The diagnostic centre in Gotenstraße 7 to 9, which was set up by the Public Health Office of the City of Bonn with the support of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, the Bonn hospitals, the German Red Cross and the Malteser Hilfsdienst, started work on Saturday, 14 March 2020.
In the diagnostic centre, persons suspected of possibly having been infected with the corona virus are examined. Assignment is made exclusively by the resident doctors, the rescue service or hospitals via the public health department after prior appointment by telephone. This is intended to relieve the burden on the resident doctors, the municipal emergency medical services, the emergency medical system, the fire brigade and hospitals.
Anyone who is concerned about being infected with the corona virus should contact their family doctor by telephone. If the family doctor is not available in the evening or at the weekend, the on-call service of the statutory health insurance physicians helps by calling 116117, which is free of charge throughout Germany. This hotline provides information; in case of doubt, the on-call doctor will also come home and carry out the treatment there.
Citizens can contact the citizens' hotline for questions about the corona virus daily between 8 and 20 o'clock at 0228 7175.
