Shortened corona quarantine of seven days

Although the necessary changes at federal level are still pending, amended corona quarantine regulations have been in force in Bonn since Thursday, January 13, 2022. This is made possible by the Corona Test and Quarantine Ordinance of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which gives local authorities room for maneuver.

Effective immediately, a shortened isolation and quarantine period of seven days applies to persons infected with coronavirus and contact persons if a PCR or certified rapid antigen test performed on the seventh day is negative. For students and children in child care services, quarantine as a contact person can be terminated after only five days by a rapid PCR or antigen test (specimen collected no earlier than day five) because they are involved in serial testing strategies.

Without testing, quarantine can be terminated after ten days. Boosted contacts and contacts who are both vaccinated and recovered do not need to be quarantined. Quarantine as a contact person is also waived for dually vaccinated and recovered persons if the illness/vaccination occurred less than three months ago.
