Funding is aimed in particular at smaller organizations or initiatives based in Bonn. It is also possible to apply with projects that serve to implement Agenda 2030 and the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The postmark received by the City of Bonn is considered as the valid date for the deadline.
The Committee for Europe, International Affairs, Science, Economics and Labor is expected to decide on the allocation of funds at its meeting on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Projects started beforehand or completed after April 30, 2022 are not eligible for funding.
The eligibility criteria, application form and required attachments can be completed and downloaded online from the City of Bonn's website at (in German). Important: Applications as well as necessary attachments (for example, expenditure and financing plan) must be sent in writing to:
City of Bonn, Department of International Affairs and Global Sustainability, Ms. Sabine Adams, Altes Rathaus, Markt, 53111 Bonn. Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to send the application documents digitally.
The applications should contain:
- A fully completed application form: The project description in the application form must comprehensibly explain how the funded measure serves defined goals (relating to development education work, the promotion of Bonn’s project partnerships, or implementation of Agenda 2030).
- The form of the cost and financing overview with all expected expenses as well as all revenues: Any own resources and contributions - for example in cash, human resources, voluntary work, contributions in kind - must be listed. The desired funding amount must be explicitly stated. This should not exceed 3,500 euros in the case of an application for "Funding of projects in development education and Bonn project partnerships" or 2,000 euros in the case of an application for "Funding of projects to implement Agenda 2030".
