ClingTechBionics is marketing internationally a high-tech bionic suction cup that provides strong, reversible attachment even on rough surfaces. This new technology is derived from the biomechanics of the ventral suction cup of the Northern Clingfish, a small fish that can attach itself to rough rocks in the surf zone. Dr. Petra Ditsche researched this principle in the USA and developed it further here in Germany. The invention of the technical suction cup makes it possible to open up new areas of application, such as attachments to rough and structured surfaces in swimming pools, sanitary and household areas, industrial process chains, the marking of whales and other marine animals, and much more. ClingTechBionics won 1st place in the 26th NUK Business Plan Competition in 2021. Dr. Ditsche has taken advantage of the services offered by the start-up consulting team of the Bonn Economic Development Agency.
